I remember my driving instructor telling me to “look where I wanted the car to go.” While making a right turn, he told me to focus on where I wanted the car to end up at the completion of the turn. When I shifted my focus to the goal and not on the actual turn itself, I was able to guide the car smoothly around the corner, not hit the curb or any other cars, and be in the center of the lane at the end of the turn.
Shifting our focus in life to where we want to end up keeps our eyes on the goal rather than on all the distractions around that goal. How are you handling your thoughts? Have you made a shift in your focus?
